Big screen TV’s plummet in price by 30 percent

IF you are looking jealously at that 52 inch monster HDTV in the electrical shop but cannot manage the price then good news is here.

A recent survey carried out by DisplaySearch shows that average global prices for TV sets dropped by a massive 22 percent for the month of September compared with last years figures.

The largest drops in price were found in the large screen models, as an example world wide prices for 52 inch LCD TV’s which is the most popular size dropped 30 percent since September 2007. 20 inch models however only fell by 4 percent.

In America the reduction for a 52 inch LCD was 30 percent a price drop from $2,791 to a new price of $1,951. The 40 inch models fell by a more conservative 21 percent. Dropping in price from $1,915 to $1,508. In America as a whole the average price of a TV’s fell by a 16 percent margin.

So if your looking to buy a new TV is now the time to do it? Given previous history the answer is to wait it out as prices will only continue to fall. And of course with the current credit crunch and impending recession they may drop faster and bigger.

Of course when you get that monster screen mounted on your wall, dont forget to hook up your PC to it and start watching all the great free internet tv.
